Papanui High School is proud to host one of the 4 specialist units in Christchurch for intellectually disabled students.  

Our students are part of the wide cross-section of society and have the right to an age appropriate and relevant education in a local secondary school which reflects this wide range.

Each student in the Kimi Ora Unit works on an Individual Education Programme (IEP) which is developed by the student, the family, specialists and the school staff.

We believe our students enhance and enrich the social and community character of our school by providing opportunities for a greater acceptance and understanding of all people as individuals.
